I'm actually doing more observing than packing since that is Mike's forte. We've laid out all of the clothing, etc. and we're trying to decide where it should go to balance the weight on the bike. We had planned to make a trial run (fully loaded) on this day but found that we didn't have the bolts to attach the panniers to the bike. They were packed away at my mom's house 2 hours away! As I am writing this, almost a week later, we still haven't taken a test ride. Today, Friday the 17th, is the day. Tomorrow our friend Marc is driving us up to Baker City, Oregon where we will begin our tour on Adventure Cycling's Trans America Trail.
